Elder wish

Eating in the restaurant with family, going to a concert or a granddaughter’s wedding…
Although simple moments of happiness, they may require management when continuous, extensive health care is needed.

Inspired by the famous Children’s Wish Foundation, the Vitae Foundation’s Elder Wish program is intended for residents of Sherbrooke’s four residential centres. Many seniors living in residential centres still have dreams, but often do not have the means or resources to make them happen. This is where the Elder Wish program comes in. Every year, the Vitae Foundation allocates between $8 000 and $10 000 to make several wishes come true from those expressed by residents, their families or, more commonly, the professionals around them. Making these wishes a reality brings a great deal of happiness.

The Vitae Foundation also purchases Christmas gifts for people who are living alone or under public curatorship. The Foundation takes advantage of several events to provide moments that bring joy and sow a little happiness throughout the year!
